A fun and successful week in Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio.
Bill's 55th LT high school reunion was great fun (see www.sgrhoa.net/LTHS1961/). Joan attended, too (even though not a former LT student) and met more of Bill's classmates than he did.
The next day we travelled to Maryan's new home for breakfast, then drove with her to the Lillard's for a family lunch.
The next day we drove to Royal Oak, and spent a wonderful day with Barb, reminiscing and examining family mementos. Then Joan went on to Oberlin (her alma mater) for reunion planning, while Bill returned home.

18. On Tuesday we spent the morning looking through mementos from Dad's belongings (he died in 1980). It was revelatory for me. First, I discovered an autobiographical sketch that he wrote for Laura (then a high school student) in 1972. It is 15 single-spaced pages in length, and I am having it transcribed.

19. Another big surprise for me were love poems written by Mom to Dad. This one ("YOU") was written the same year that they were married (1929). Several others also showed her impressive skill at expressing the tenderness she felt for Dad.
