Naughty scientists skip work Monday and Tuesday! Bill, Steve Fadul, and Amanda Cochilla used Fabian Rodriguez' impending departure home to Buenos Aires, Argentina as an excuse to show Fabian the Colorado high country (Fabian has been here for a month). More than two feet of snow had fallen during the previous week, and the Gore Range was blanketed in white (the picture from the Vail side was downloaded from their web site). The deck was cleared (I guarded it earnestly), the skis and snowshoes came out, and Steve and I gave Fabian a rough time sledding (Steve threw snow on him, and I nipped his heels; Fabian wiped out).

On the way home, we investigated the proposed venue for Jan and Den's wedding, at the Keystone Ranch. We were impressed! What do you think?

We drove home over Loveland Pass, and had a splendid view of Arapahoe Basin ski area. At the top of the pass, there was a warning to skiers (couldn't they have said "artillery" instead of "weaponry"?). Funny thing, though, there were no skiers in evidence, just snowboarders.
