Lost Creek Wilderness

30. Two cabins, about 110 years old

35. The cabins were built to house workmen. The plan was to create a big resevoir in the valley above. The strategy was simple: because the river was underground here, and because the canyon was narrow, if concrete were pumped into the underground riverbed, it would plug the river and fill the canyon. However, after about a dozen years of pumping, with no joy, they gave up.
