Thanksgiving 1998
  • Emmy came home on Monday, Jennifer on Wednesday. On Thursday morning, the family went to see 'Babe,' and then we drove to the cabin for a fun and relaxing dinner and evening of Boggle and Hearts. Joan won both games
  • On Friday, the Swartzes and Hunters arrived for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. David and Susie Swartz came for awhile, with Lukas and Lydia. The weather was record-setting warm. We all missed Anna and, of course, Glenn and the original Marian.
  • A nice hike to the beaver ponds yielded a bountiful harvest of rose hips. I herded Christy (the Hunter hound) relentlessly. Dory's legs are too long. I was subjected to the public humiliation of wearing a turkey costume. At least I was rewarded with many treats.
  • After a delicious traditional - and true-to-Loveday-fashion plentiful - dinner, they played Scattegories and Charades. I was hiding in the bedroom most of the time.
