A gorgeous weekend! Seventy degrees by 11AM! Endless cloudless splendor. Saturday evening we hosted 19 people and 2 dogs for dinner, welcoming Lee, Dr. Jessica (who somehow escaped being photographed), Alex (4) and Sydney (1.6) to the valley. Besides some immediate neighbors (Marty, Jim Gorman), guests included Elizabeth and Sam Kirk and a busca (that's the collective noun, I believe) of Buscarella's (Patriarch Ralph and Matriarch Gloria and daughter Gail (pictured below with her parents and also reading to Alex) and daughter Carrie (not pictured, and probably misspelled) and husband Tim Dunn with their 2 children Bryan (1) and Kaitlin (not pictured and also probably misspelled), and Tim's sister Stephanie & husband Doug Darling). That's the Kirk's friendly new horse, Belle, who will be pulling the sleigh they plan to buy!
On Sunday morning we had breakfast on the deck, and hiked around Joan's loop. |
