The cottage is east of New Haven, south of the town of Branford, right beside the clubhouse of the Pine Orchard Country Club. The six maps below show the location at increasingly fine resolution (click on any map to see an enlarged version).
DIRECTIONS from New Haven:
  • Take I-95 north (you actually head east)
  • Take Exit 55,
  • Turn left from exit ramp onto Route 1, eastbound
  • 0.3 mi to just past stop light (Featherbed Ln)
  • Right (south) on Featherbed Lane to end, crossing under I-95 (0.9 mi)
  • Left on Damascus Road (1.5 mi, stay right Route 146 and all forks). This turns into Blackstone Ave.
  • Left on Pine Orchard Road (pond on left) - 0.2 mi
  • As you emerge into an open area, the Pine Orchard Club House will be on your right. Start to turn right towards the club house, then turn left right away into the driveway of the Alling compound (see aerial photo below).
